The bi-annual Forbes MBA ranking, published at http://www.forbes.com/lists/2011/95/best-business-schools-11_land.html ranks INSEAD #2 out of 12 schools which offer a one-year programme outside the US. IMD is ranked # 1. In 2009, our positions were reversed.
Forbes presents three separate rankings:
* A ranking of schools in the US offering a two-year MBA programme
* A ranking of schools outside the US offering a two-year programme
* A ranking of schools outside the US offering a one-year programme (in which INSEAD participates)
The rankings are based exclusively on the return on investment (ROI) that alumni five years out received (MBA Class of 2006).
The Top-12 schools for ROI are:
1. IMD
2. INSEAD
3. IE Business School
4. SDA Bocconi
5. Cambridge (Judge)
6. Oxford (Said)
7. Lancaster
8. Warwick
9. City U (Cass)
10. Cranfield
11. EM Lyon
12. HEC-Montreal
How the methodology works:
The Forbes survey is bi-annual and measures the return on investment (ROI) of the MBA programme for alumni who graduated five years ago i.e. the Class of 2006. For each school, Forbes calculates the average 5-year salary gain in US dollars made by the MBA graduates, minus tuition fees and forgone salary (opportunity costs).
Forbes also applies a non-disclosed formula to adjust for cost of living and exchange rates.
The data upon which the ranking is based comes from the schools and their alumni (the Class of 2006).
Sound good..!
